We feel this “buying season” for homes is shaping up to be one of the best in years with buyers looking to take advantage of the still low interest rates and sellers expecting to get the highest prices for their homes as inventories are still low and home prices are still rising. Look no further than Fannie Mae for substantiation of this confidence in housing.
Americans More Confident in Housing Than Ever Before
Americans are more confident about their housing prospects than ever before, with more believing now is “a good time” to buy or sell a home, according to the just-released Fannie Mae Home Purchase Sentiment Index® (HPSI), which hit high point after high point in February.
“The latest post-election surge in optimism puts the HPSI at its
Homeowners report considerable higher rates of satisfaction than renters with their housing. A variety of reasons include:
Equity Build-Up. People believe in the investment wisdom of owning a home and accept mortgage payments as a benign forced savings plan. For most homeowners, housing prices move up more quickly in good times than they decline when the economy sours because homeowners shy away from selling property during recessions.
Home ownership also means the right to control your domain. A lender can’t send homeowners packing unless they stop paying their mortgage loans. Landlords may force tenants out at the end of the lease. Owners can paint their walls with pink polka dots and install water beds and
If you are in the process of purchasing a home, your first step is to inquire about your mortgage financing options. It has been said that a “small town feel” is not defined by a city’s physical size or by its number of residents, but is defined by the feeling of community! If measured by the numbers, with over 126,000 residents in 2016, Coral Springs could hardly be called a “small town”. But if measured by the feeling of community-welcome home!
One way Coral Springs achieves this “small town feel” is by holding “Slice of the Springs” meetings throughout our communities. The city staff comes to our neighborhoods to discuss relevant issues and concerns. Police, fire, parks and recreation, public works and more come to bring the residents “up to date” on how they are helping to build and maintain the physical and social infrastructures.
